\nWorld Tourism Day 2016 in Ger\u00eas

World Tourism Day was celebrated on 27 September, this year with the theme \u201cTourism for All \u2013 Promoting Universal Accessibility\u201d, defined by the World Tourism Organization.<\/p>\n
In Ger\u00eas, the business association Ger\u00eas Viver Turismo marked the date with activities focused on people with cognitive and motor limitations, such as hippotherapy (contact with horses), cycling and walking.<\/p>\n
Users from three institutions in the district of Braga, namely Braga Delegation of ACAPO \u2013 Associa\u00e7\u00e3o dos Cegos e Ambl\u00edopes de Portugal, CERCIGUI \u2013 Cooperativa de Educa\u00e7\u00e3o e Reabilita\u00e7\u00e3o de Cidad\u00e3os Inadaptados de Guimar\u00e3es and AIREV \u2013 Associa\u00e7\u00e3o para a Integra\u00e7\u00e3o e Reabilita\u00e7\u00e3o Social de Crian\u00e7as e Jovens Deficientes de Vizela, they were able to enjoy direct contact with nature, the mountain and some of the fauna and flora of Ger\u00eas, with many moments of joy and satisfaction.<\/p>\n
The City Council of Terras de Bouro joined the initiative with indispensable logistical support, and the activities were developed in partnership with three tourism animation companies (Equi Campo, Equi Desafios and Parque Cerdeira) based in Terras de Bouro.<\/p>\n
